About Kaya

Kaya Mindlin, CSYT, E-RYT 500, IAYT Yoga Therapist, began her exploration of ancient eastern traditions in 1998 and has been teaching yoga since 2001. With over a decade of teaching experience and thousands of hours training, she is among the most highly experienced Therapeutic Yoga teachers in the country and is registered at the highest possible level with the National Yoga Alliance, allowing her to teach teachers.  She teaches in several locations and is the director of Emeryville Yoga & Wellness.

Her offerings include Yoga classes for all levels, Deeper Yoga, Yoga Therapy Sessions, Ayurvedic Consultations, Workshops, Yoga Philosophy, Prenatal Yoga, Meditation, and Retreats.

Kaya's yoga classes are primarily based in the underlying teachings of yoga, with the body being a secondary focus.  She brings personalized attention to each individual, knowledge of anatomy and ancient texts, and humor that elicits the joy of yoga. Her skill lies in a capacity to teach spontaneously according to the student and to clearly explain complex concepts. She also partners with her husband, Michael Manzella, to work with clients via jyotish, vaastu, and yoga philosophy.  Kaya continues her personal studies with illuminating teachers in the Advaita Vedanta tradition - including Swami Dayananda Saraswati and Swami Tattvavidananda
