Navadurgā: Journey with the Divine Mother

Now Available Self-Paced

The Navadurgā are the 9 aspects of manifestations of Durgā. These forms are can be invoked and praised during Navarātri - one goddess for each of the nine days & nights. It is easy to find "lists" and "factoids" about each of these forms. But devotees are not interested in information, we are interested in deep healing & transformation. Behind the "facts" lie powerful stories, meaning & revelation!

Each aspect of the Goddess reveals a keystone of the human experience.

"Facts" are not the heart of the Navadurgā.

As a seeker you want to fall in love with the goddess, find personal meanig in Her, and be held and guided by Her.

And this is possible when we go deeper with the Navadurgā.

In this program, we'll explore the stories & meanings of the Navadurgā, along with devotional chanting and revelations of the 9 forms of Durgā as...

The journey of the Goddess

The journey of Life itself.

The journey of the Devotee.

"Oh Goddess, the one who recites your names and praises you daily will find no difficulties in the three worlds"

~ Devī Mahatmya

Navarātri

This program was taught during Navarātri - the 9 Nights of the Goddess, but you can delve into Her realms anytime that you feel called.

Goddess festival times are portals to the sacred - a time for stories, sādhana & secrets of the Goddess. In fact, there is a mini Navarātri every month - as you will learn inside the program.

Navarātri cycles can crack you open in the best of ways, opening you to love and the inner illumination of your own heart, where the divine pulses within.

Like the newborn baby in the lap of the mother, when we listen to Her meanings, and chant to Her it is like we are nestled in her arms. The meanings & mantras can be applied to sustain your relationship with the goddess and serve as an upāya [remedy] for difficult karmas - both material & spiritual.

"Even if being being burned by fire, or in the midst of enemies on a battlefield, or or whenever thoughts are occupied by fear, no sorrow will envelop such a person who takes refuge in the Mother."

~ Devī Mahatmya

"Thank you for this Divine offering, Kaya. I’ve truly loved being part of it and feel steeped in devotion. It’s been such a deep and beautiful journey. It’s been wonderful to see the parallels between my own life as a mother and the Divine Mother. These sessions have been so rich and special. One of my favourite sadhanas is simply listening to you share your vast knowledge, wisdom, and storytelling. I’ve been listening to Divine stories for many years, but they land so differently with you. I also want to thank you for the added asana practice, I always feel huge and spacious afterwards after practicing with you. I’m so deeply grateful. Thank you."
Claire

A Note from Kaya

My devotional practices to the Goddess began two decades ago… when a teacher advised a daily practice. My relationship with Her was simple… rooted in the mantra alone. No study, no intellectualizing, no academics… no real “information”. I was simply given a hymn to sing, and followed the instruction.

Nine years in, and I had had chanted to Her as a daily habit, in desperate moments of prayer, during childbirth and in celebration.

It was then that I was first given deeper teachings of Her… from one of my Gurus, who is a great devotee of the divine Mother disguised as a Vedanta Swami. He was brought to tears teaching about the Mother during Navarātri… and this was where a different aspect of the journey began to unfold.

The journey continued from there. And yet… often her stories and iconography mystified me.

Until I was able to coalesce the practices & stories in contemplative moments at my altar, in nature and when telling stories to my children that more meanings began to be revealed. Here Her stories became profoundly personal.

It would be be an honor to share some of this with you during this Navarātri.

Love,
Kaya
