Puja
Learn to do Ritual Worship at Home
With Pūja we invite the divine in to our homes and hearts as the most revered guest. We make offerings of the elements... which are the manifestation of the divine. In Pūja all is beloved. The offerings, the divine and the devotee. ~ Kaya
Pañcopacārā Pūjā Online Retreat
Learn to do 5-Step sacred ritual offering to the divine.
Join Kaya to learn how to do a 5 step pūja.
This is for the devotee, the seeker, the practitioner who wants to cultivate a relationship with the divine through daily ritual offerings. This program will be shared as a one day online retreat.
What is Pūjā
Pūjā is ritual worship in which sanctified offerings of the elements and mantras are made to one or more forms of the divine. As you learn pūjā you discover the beauty of the ways in which the divine manifests as the multitudes. You can incorporate pūjā with other devotional practices such as prayer, mantra recitation and visualization to imbue it all with more meaning and impact.
Offering the manifestations of space, air, fire, water and earth - which are the divine manifest, to the beloved form of the divine of your choice opens up the devotee within you. You open your eyes and see the divine on your altar, you close your eyes and invite the divine to live in your heart, you bow your head and place your head in your heart... then you raise your head and open your eyes, go back into the world and see the divine in everything and everyone. What a glory!
To learn to do pūjā ritual worship is a blessing which blesses. Pūjā is a living expression of the doorway, the pathway and the destination of the spiritual journey.

"Water may be available underground, but one can have it only by the effort of tapping. The grace of the divine is always for everyone, but one has to make some effort to receive it. The sure way is by prayer in the form of pūjā and sanskrit recitation. If you learn this, you will have the means of earning Bhagavan's Grace all your lifetime. Learn it properly and learn it well" ~ Pūjya Swami Dayānanda
A Note from Kaya, on Pūjā
I was trained in Pañcopacārā Pūjā in the lineage of Pujya Swami Dayānanda, with my lovely Pūjā teacher Rāshmi. There are many variations in how to do Pūjā… taught in different lineages and families. There is no one right way… so long as the elements are invoked and the heart of the devotee is open and curious to engage in the divine relationship with devotion and dedication.
There are also more elaborate ways to do Pūjā, including 16-step and beyond. These are beautiful and special.
What I am sharing in this program is the 5-Step Pūjā that I do everyday in my home, as a teacher, a mother, a wife. I believe firmly, as did my guru Sri Krishan Mantriji that your devotional life should fit into your whole life in a way that is sustainable. What matters most is not that it is perfect, but that it is done. Or as I like to say, “better done than perfect”.
For it is in the doing that the blessings are received. And whatever is received will be perfect, as it is given by the hand of God.
Love,
Kaya
